Post-Morrison Doors, which means no leather-clad Lizard King but plenty of groove left in the tank. Manzarek, Krieger and Densmore carry on with a looser, jammy feel - more bar-band funk, boogie rock and the odd psych detour. It’s not the myth-making stuff of their heyday, but there’s charm in hearing the band stretch out without Jim’s shadow looming quite as heavy. FFO: Steppenwolf with better organ tone, barroom rock that still drifts cosmic, cult curios from classic bands.
