UK early 80s press Red Labels. Records and sleeve EX.
A proper cult compilation, originally put out in ’72 not long after Morrison checked out. Instead of just chucking the obvious hits together, it digs into deep cuts, album tracks and the darker corners of their catalogue. Sure, you still get Riders on the Storm and Break On Through, but also class weirder stuff like The Spy and End of the Night. A moody, trippy set that feels more like a mixtape for the diehards than a greatest hits cash-in. FFO: Late-night desert drives, Jim Morrison’s drunk poetry, psychedelia with too much leather.
