UK first press 1975. Record and sleeve in nice condition.
Mid-70s Who and probably their most confessional record. Pete Townshend in full existential crisis mode, writing songs about aging, burnout and wondering if the party’s already over. Musically it’s stripped back compared to their big rock operas, more raw and vulnerable, with Daltrey’s voice carrying the weight. Not as flashy as Tommy or Quadrophenia, but maybe more human for it. FFO: classic rock with midlife dread, power chords carrying heavy thoughts, The Who when the hangover kicked in.
