UK 1972 press. Records play well with a minor crackle in places. Sleeve has heavier wear.
Only Marc Bolan could pull off album titles this long without getting laughed out of the pressing plant. This double-pack reissue of the early T. Rex era (back when they were still “Tyrannosaurus” and sounded more like druids at a poetry slam) is peak late-60s whimsy. Acoustic strums, bongos, and lyrics about unicorns and wizards delivered with a straight face, somehow managing to be both ridiculous and brilliant. You can almost smell the patchouli oil through the shrink wrap. FFO: Donovan after licking a toad, Syd Barrett with a tambourine habit, every mate who swears they’ve “nearly finished” their novel, and the faint hum of a lava lamp you probably shouldn’t have left plugged in overnight.
