One of those records that never stops sounding dangerous. Sharp edges everywhere, tunes that feel like they are constantly about to tip over, and a band absolutely locked in while still sounding like they are arguing with each other. Dolphy at full stretch, pushing post bop into weird, angular, slightly unhinged territory and making it sound completely alive. If you only know Blue Note as smooth late night jazz, this one will sort you out very quickly. Proper classic and still feels confrontational now.
