1976 and Ritchie Blackmore decides Deep Purple wasn’t dramatic enough, so he hires Ronnie James Dio and points everything straight at the heavens. Full-on wizard rock: massive riffs, Dio belting about stargazers, and drum fills the size of castles. Heavy metal as theatre, and it’s glorious.
