The Doors at their weirdest and most conflicted. Not the clean cut classic some people expect, more psychedelic detours, uneasy moods and Jim Morrison fully leaning into the poet chaos phase. It’s got the hits, but it’s also got plenty of strange corners and uneasy vibes that reward repeat listens. Not their tightest record, but absolutely one of the most interesting. Still sounds slightly unhinged, which is exactly the point. FFO Love, Jefferson Airplane, early Pink Floyd, The Velvet Underground, late 60s psychedelic rock
