After the chaos of Metal Machine Music, Lou does a total swerve into tender, laid-back rock and roll. Warm, surprisingly sweet and even a bit nostalgic, with the title track standing as one of his finest love songs. Still plenty of grit in there, but it’s Lou at his most human, peeling back the snarl to show something softer. FFO: Velvet Underground without the feedback, Springsteen wandering into a dive bar, art rock that lets its guard down.
