First press 2016.
Proper bleak this. Not even pretending to be welcoming. Everything’s just slow, heavy, and hanging in the air like damp concrete. Drums feel like they’re being dragged rather than played, low end just sitting there making you uneasy, bits of metal scraping about in the background. Not much happens on the surface but it’s thick as anything underneath. You don’t put this on for a good time. You put it on when you want the room to feel different. Does that job very well. FFO: Demdike Stare, Vatican Shadow, early Andy Stott, industrial dub, weighty electronics, staring at the wall a bit too long
