Pure late 80s mood piece. Michael Kamen nailing that smoky, nocturnal LA feel with brooding orchestration, bluesy tension and just enough melodrama to keep it cinematic. Then you’ve got Eric Clapton and David Sanborn drifting in with guitar and sax lines that feel lonely, tired and cool as hell. It’s more atmosphere than bangers, all rain soaked streets and late night drives. Proper soundtrack music that actually stands up away from the film. Very of its time and all the better for it.
