Dark, icy and way heavier than people remember. This is Cocteau Twins before the gloss, all drum machine thud, serrated bass and Elizabeth Fraser already sounding completely otherworldly. Post punk shadowed in goth atmosphere, cold but strangely romantic at the same time. You can hear the future forming but it is still rooted in something rough and raw.
