Deep Purple

UK first press 1974. Record plays with a light crackle in places. Sleeve has some heavier shelf wear.
The one where Deep Purple let a bit of funk and soul creep into the hard rock blueprint — much to the delight (or horror) of fans at the time. Stormbringer is a swaggering, groove-heavy swirl of bluesy riffs, soulful vocals and Hammond organ wizardry, with Coverdale and Hughes pushing the band into new territory while Blackmore’s guitar still cuts like a blade. Not the heaviest Purple, but one of the slickest and most underrated. FFO: Rainbow, Whitesnake (early), Uriah Heep, Bad Company
