UK first press 1996. Record plays with a light crackle in places.
The tune that accidentally became the soundtrack to 90s chaos. Underworld probably thought they’d written a moody club weapon, but then Trainspotting happened and suddenly every hen do and stag night in the land was screaming “LAGER LAGER LAGER” at closing time. Still, the original 12” is a monster - relentless kick, spiralling synths, Karl Hyde ranting like a drunk poet laureate. Euphoric, messy, iconic. FFO: Leftfield if they’d had one too many, Chemical Brothers with a hangover, Orbital in a bad mood, and anyone who’s ever shouted “mega mega white thing” without knowing what it means.
