Peak solo Moz being dramatic about gangsters he definitely romanticised a bit too much. Big swooning melody, jangly glam pop shimmer and lyrics delivered like he’s personally offended by society again. It’s theatrical, slightly ridiculous and annoyingly catchy. If you enjoy your indie with a side of eyebrow raise and existential posing, this is prime era. FFO The Smiths obviously, Johnny Marr guitar sparkle, Suede early melodrama, Pulp for the storytelling strut
