Powerplant’s gone full goth theatre here. same wiry synth punk brain but now it’s wearing a cape and shouting at the moon. big drums, big sad hooks, bits of black metal lurking about, then suddenly a melody comes in and you’re like alright this is actually catchy as hell. feels like someone fed Gary Numan through a dungeon, gave him a choir and told him to get dramatic. jumps all over the place but never loses the plot. bit evil, bit camp, bit “why am I enjoying this so much”.
