this is where it clicks a bit more. still absolutely filthy black metal at its core but now there’s space in it, bits where it pulls back and actually lets you feel something before throwing you straight back in. loads more texture, weird little details creeping in, even the odd melody hanging about longer than you’d expect. still sounds like it was made in a cave but a very intentional cave. heavy, bleak, slightly emotional if you’re willing to admit it.
