Before Yellow Magic Orchestra and all the synth wizardry, Hosono was deep in his tropical daydream era - and Tropical Dandy is the peak of that laid-back madness. A lush, sunburnt fusion of Japanese folk pop, Caribbean rhythms, and warped exotica lounge, it drifts somewhere between a lost cruise ship band and a surreal postcard from the 70s.
