It was characterized by a refusal of conventional rock structures and a focus on experimentation, noise, and minimalism. While not directly tied to A&M Records, the label did release a compilation album titled "No Wave" in 1978, featuring a diverse mix of artists from the New Wave and No Wave scenes, including Joe Jackson.
