Way better than it ever needed to be. What starts as shiny synth pop quickly reveals itself as a slightly off kilter, emotionally restless record with proper depth under the gloss. Big hooks everywhere, but there is also anxiety, self doubt and a constant sense of trying to keep it together bubbling underneath. It feels modern without chasing trends and nostalgic without leaning on cosplay. Easy to enjoy on the surface and surprisingly sticky once you sit with it. One of those albums that sneaks up on you.
