Alice’s late 70s concept album, co-written with Bernie Taupin, that turns his real-life stint in a New York sanitarium into a slick, theatrical rock opera. There’s a lot of character acting here, both musically and lyrically, with a polish that’s more West End than gutter, but still plenty of bite.
