Mogwai quietly stepping sideways and accidentally inventing a whole new lane for themselves. Still heavy still emotional but with melodies hooks and a strange warmth creeping in around the edges. Synths vocals and actual songs appearing without losing that slow burn tension they do better than anyone. It feels reflective bruised and huge in a very unshowy way.
