Formed in the late 1960s, the blues rock quartet Katmandu was comprised of four hopefuls on the Miami music scene, namely singer/keyboardist Norman Harris, guitarist Bob Jabo, drummer Kenny Zale, and bassist Bobby Caldwell, who would later score immortal 'What You Won't Do For Love' as a solo singer-songwriter. Having relocated to Las Vegas, the band signed to Mainstream after crossing paths with Little Richard and their resultant self- titled debut holds plenty of appeal, with rocking originals, inspired instrumentals, a soave white soul ballad, and a few well-executed cover tunes to boot. - Bobby Caldwell, RIP!
