This caught a few people off guard. Way more stripped back than you’d expect. No big band drama, just him leaning into the songwriting properly. Feels very internal, bit lonely, bit poetic without trying too hard. His voice sits differently as well when it’s not fighting guitars the whole time. Still has that weight to it but it’s quieter, more fragile. Not a “stick it on for a party” job at all. More late night, lights off, thinking too much.
