Alice’s first solo outing from 1975 and a full dive into theatrical concept territory. A surreal, horror-tinged journey through dreams and nightmares, packed with big arrangements, sinister ballads, and Vincent Price narrating like only he can. It’s glossy, campy, and creepy in equal measure — the ultimate rock ’n’ roll haunted house. This one’s the Atlantic SD 18130 pressing for the detail hunters. FFO: Meat Loaf, Blue Öyster Cult, Queen, David Bowie 1972’s mischievous masterstroke, opening with the immortal title track and rolling through a mix of glam swagger, theatrical rock, and a bit of jazzy weirdness. It’s Alice and the band at their most playful but still razor sharp, with Bob Ezrin’s production giving it that extra punch.
