The War On Drugs doing that big widescreen heartland thing they’ve absolutely nailed. Long driving songs, loads of shimmering guitars, synths floating about and Adam Granduciel sounding like he’s halfway between Bruce Springsteen and someone who’s been awake for three days staring out a car window. It just rolls along in that hypnotic way where one track bleeds into the next and suddenly the whole album’s gone.
