Another absolutely unreal deep dive from Analog Africa. This one zooms in on Angolan music from the late sixties to late seventies when isolation, limited gear and pure curiosity led to some properly mind bending results. Heavy use of distortion, homemade effects, tape manipulation and trancey repetition wrapped around semba, folk and early pop forms. It sounds futuristic, rough round the edges and totally hypnotic. Not a greatest hits comp. This is the strange brilliant stuff that slipped through the cracks. Essential if you like your reissues a bit feral.
