Peak early 90s earnestness and I mean that as a compliment. Natalie Merchant in full storyteller mode, big chiming guitars, and that warm, slightly glossy production that screams grown up alternative. It’s heartfelt without being cheesy, serious without being heavy handed. The kind of song that makes you stop mid tea and actually listen. Quietly powerful. Still class.
