Better than a lot of people expect from Louis Tomlinson. How Did I Get Here? leans into earnest pop rock with proper heart rather than chasing chart tricks. Big choruses, reflective lyrics and a sense of someone trying to figure things out in public without hiding behind irony. It is straightforward, sincere and actually lands because of that. Not reinventing anything but doing the emotional heavy lifting well. Easy to write off. Easier still to enjoy once it is on.
