A proper desert soaked heavyweight from a lineup that is frankly outrageous. Members of Afghan Whigs, Hermano, Yawning Sons, The Fizz Fuzz, Orquesta del Desierto, Sons of Alpha Centauri and Luna Sol all piled into one project and somehow it sounds exactly as big as that suggests. Soulful harmonies, thick psychedelic haze, massive riffs and that sunburned slow burn energy you only get from people who know this sound inside out. Dawn and Dandy Brown’s twin vocals give it a haunting melodic centre while Steve Earle keeps everything rolling with a hypnotic thump. If you want heavy psych with actual songs and not just endless fuzz noodling this is the one.
