A 1960 sleeper classic from pianist Freddie Redd, bringing soulful bop tunes with a slightly off-kilter edge. With Jackie McLean on alto and Tina Brooks on tenor, the horns are razor sharp over Redd’s cool swing. One of those Blue Notes that feels underrated until you actually play it and wonder why it isn’t hyped to bits.
