The hazy sound worlds of Hawksmoor (James McKeown) and Ivan The Tolerable (Oli Heffernan) collide on Atoms In The Void in a swirl of droning bliss. Both are known for sprawling 70s-style longform jams, but here they distil it into bite-sized trips. “Anise” blends pastoral folk with a creeping unease, “Atom Dub” rides Ivan’s trademark drone with wah guitar mystery, “Interoception” is a dizzying, blues-infused head-nodder, and “Machen” could be a lost Badalamenti cue left on Lynch’s cutting room floor.
