Mac’s back with his first proper studio album since Here Comes The Cowboy (2019). After the marathon of One Wayne G and the laid-back wanderings of Five Easy Hot Dogs, Guitar feels like a focused return: 12 new songs, all written, performed and recorded solo at his LA home studio over a couple of November weeks in 2024. It’s classic Mac territory but with a reflective edge, stripped back and honest, the sound of an artist holding up a mirror to where he’s at right now. Or, in his own words, “as close to a true representation of where I’m at in my life today as I can manage to put to paper.”
