The post-Britpop comedown record nobody asked for, but kind of needed — Ian McCulloch in full crooner mode, leaning into sweeping strings, soft-focus melancholy, and big existential sighs. Less jagged post-punk, more late-night cabaret. It's moody, sincere, and a bit world-weary — which honestly suits them. Not their coolest record, but maybe one of their most honest.
