Confines sees Pan Am (the alias of jazz trumpeter Leron Thomas) lean further into off-kilter loops, dry wit, and that laid-back, slightly unbothered delivery. It’s lo-fi but rich, strange but smooth — like Earl Sweatshirt if he played brass and had a fondness for Dilla’s weirder B-sides.
