The album was the first in a celebrated trilogy of albums that Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan recorded together, being followed by Sunday at Devil Dirt in 2008 and Hawk in 2010. The album garnered widespread acclaim, with the duo being hailed as a modern day Nancy and Lee, and went on to be shortlisted for the Mercury Prize.
