UK 2019 Repress, Army Green.
Deadpan to the point of nearly not caring. Everything’s stripped right back, drums just ticking along, bass doing the minimum, guitars kind of hovering about, and she’s just talking over it like she’s slightly bored of the whole thing. Which somehow makes it land even harder. Feels cold, detached, a bit claustrophobic. Not big or dramatic at all, just quietly unsettling the whole way through. Keeps you in it though. FFO: Nico, ESG slower cuts, The Raincoats, dubby post punk, spoken vocal stuff, minimal wave, slightly uncomfortable listening
